"The song "After The Fire" started with the first part of the chorus. I had the phrase “I’m not sure if this is prayer, or if its plea… or begging or hoping or just my insanity" rolling around in my head for a while and finally decided to sit down and do something with it. I want to say I wrote the first half of the first verse and the first half of the second verse and then got stuck. Cody and I had written another song together called "The High Road" and it's always a favorite for people at shows, so I thought I’d shoot him what I had. We kicked it back and forth a few times with him adding some and me adding some, and he really rounded off the edges and helped turn it into a really great song.
